Description
Australia, Jan, 1995, Phyllis holding a Wombat, rather unexpectedly. Quite fun! We love Australia and Sydney has to be the first big city that we have ever loved. It is so beautiful. Australia also has many fabulous Wild Animals parks. We were in a "Birdland Park" here and then found our way to the Beach where all the wild Kangaroos were, waiting for us to feed them. Big kangaroos! "The FAA Watermark will not show on any of your beautifully finished works of Art"! ***

Thank you, Sergey. I think that was the first time I had ever seen a Wombat. The farmers, of Australia, don't like them because they leave huge holes in their fields and their cattle and horses can break their legs in the holes. I certainly understand that! But I think this one was a pet of Bird Land.

Beautiful, Phyllis! How wonderful to see this joyful photo of you hugging a wombat! Made me smile too! L/F
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Hi Hanne. If it has fur, I would hug it if I possibly could!. I was very surprised when they let me hold it! The farmers hate them because wombats digs holes as big as they are and then the farm animals step in them and get legs broken. But this one seemed to like the people in the "Bird Land" Park! Not long after this, Bruce failed to take a photo of me surrounded by about 10 very large kangaroos. Actually, the camera was probably around my neck! smiles! Thank you!

this is so cool and fun! smiles abound. I think the wombat is even cracking a bit of a smile! as with so many of your images, your love of animals shines.
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you, so very much, Chance! I think I see a smile too! Smiles to you too!

Oh my gosh! Good to see you! And that wombat too! Amazing! I don't think I'd ever do that. But then again, I have never seen a wombat up close.
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you, Mary! He was really cute and even seemed to like to be held! I think that was the first one I had ever seenone too. The Farmers hate them because they dig holes as big around as wombats are and the horses and other animals can break their legs if they step in them. I grew up ranching and I wouldn't have liked them either - except for a cute pet. if possible!

Great portrait of Phyllis and the Wombat!!! Very adorable photo! You are pretty strong to hold onto a 30 pound animal so nicely F/L
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you, very much, Morris! After one raises 3 children, I think we just get that way. I don't have to lift any weights! LOL
Robin Maria Pedrero
awww
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you Robin for the delightful "awww!" I thought that wombat was so cute, though I understand why the farmer hate them. They dig holes everywhere as big around as he is! Guess they just need to make pets out of all of them. ;-)
