Artist's Description
"Much to his surprise the bear and the dog begin to play together:" I am thinking of going to Alaska sometime soon and it made me think of an e-mail, with pictures, that I received some time ago. If I remember correctly a Ranger was out with his sled dogs when, suddenly, his dog ran toward a Polar bear that was coming their way. Much to his surprise the bear and the dog begin to play together. For some reason, I just HAD to paint one of the pictures as I remember it. I believe the image is ingrained in my mind! The Mounty said he saw the Polar Bear come back, time and again to play with the dog. I wonder if it is still happening.
