Description
I don't know where this roadrunner had been, but he was very happy to land on our fence and shake his feathers out! He is going to keep his eye on the kitty in the photo that is preceding his. Pico was shaking her tail too! I think these two had fun, together, on occasion. Very sassy bird - and cat too! The FAA Watermark will not appear on your finished products. ***

Phyllis, I've been looking for years , and never seen one ! FANTASTIC....almost from another planet ! Great photo !
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you for your wonderful comments, Brian. I don't think I had seen many Roadrunners either, until we move to Palm Desert, CA in the year 2000. There, we had them visiting our yard and the golf course that was behind us. Very mischievous and always up to something.

Phyllis, this is quite funny, I love it. I've never seen a roadrunner and now I have. L/Fav/Tw/G+/Su/P
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you Constance. I am very happy to show you mischievous Roadrunner. I wish his colors showed a lttle more as the male can be very pretty, as one of my paintings shows.

Beautiful bird and capture. I'd love to see one of these someday ... v,f
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you, very much, Meg. I used to love to watch them in Palm Desert, CA

Never seen a roadrunner before! Very unusual large bird with a very long tail! v
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you, Elizabeth. I just moved the painting of a roadrunner that I did several years ago, to the front of my profile page. You can see the colors of the roadrunner better in that.
Kathy Baccari
Wow Phyllis, so this is what a real live Road Runner looks like. I had no idea they were such large birds. Awesome catch. F/V :)
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Hi Kathy. my beautiful Roadrunner looks a bit scruffy in this capture. I got caught, here, saying "HE" when I actually think this is a "she", now that I look closer. I have 2 paintings that I did of the "HE" down in Palm Desert. They have a bit more color on them. I invite you to look for him. ;-)
AnnaJo Vahle
Wonderful capture, Phyllis! I look forward to seeing you do a painting of this. f/v
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
Thank you AnnaJo. I hadn't thought to paint him. I just might do that. I did paint another with a wild sky. I will make sure he is in my paintings too....
